I like the way you have included the tree branches in the front of the picture - gives it a better sense of scale - I think that the temptation just to shot sky, sky and more sky can lead to colourful, but not always interesting shots. That’s not the case here. Splendid! Stewart M
I'm looking forward to spring but I sure am going to miss the bare tree branches. :) I think I might have said it before but it is worth repeating that your writing is truly a gift. Lovely post!
Hi Mickie, that is a gorgeous sunset sky! The silhouetting bushes make a very nice frame too. Little Helmer is doing so well, he a very peaceful and content baby. I've been staying with them this week and it's been such a blessing to be able to follow him so closely through these first days of his life. You're a grandmother too, so you know what I mean. Do yours live close by?
Two beautiful shots....the sunrises are lovely. I try to capture the sun as it is coming up every morning on my way to school, and i usually shoot from the same pull off spot. It is fascinating that each day the view is totally different. These 2 photos captured the glow and majesty so well. Fine work. Hope you have a great weekend...warm and outside with your camera. Thanks so much for your visit to my blog. G
Your skywatch always tries to inspire me to go out and capture the sunset, one of these nights I will when the sun sets later. Once again, your foreground branches work well to fill the scene.

This is a wonderful blend of words and images.
I love sunsets and sunrises and will drive all over town to hunt one down. :-) Yours are stunning!

Peaceful and serene, Mickie--both the photos and the haiku!
CHICKEN LITTLE
Chicken Little thinks the sky
Will be falling bye and bye,
Crashing to the ground like sand
Scattered over sea and land.
What do silly chickens know?
Who told Chicken Little so?
She should get the story straight:
Sky’s not falling, it’ll wait!

Very pretty, we are just beginning to see buds on our branches.
A beautiful glow!

Some of my favorite shots are with wispy branches framing a landscape. I think they are reaching for the sunset's glow! :)
