A Day On The River

Sunday afternoon was spent on the Arkansas River (that's pronounced Ar KAN sas) here in Kansas.  Although it was 15 degrees early Sunday morning, it reached 45 degrees by midafternoon and was quite pleasant.  It helped that the sun was brightly shining.  These are but a few of the hundreds of geese one will find on the river.

In the Spring and Summer when this tree is a mass of green leaves,  one would never know how twisted and gnarled the trunk and branches are.  It is truly a "work of art" the way the branches intertwine.

Thanks for sharing these photos, nice creatures and an interesting tree. Most posts I have seen recently have had snow in it, Let's hope we are beginning to warm up now.
