Weekend Reflections -Hippo Happiness
There is a reflection here (someone's feet at the bottom), but the main objective is to show you the cutest little hippo ever. Mom and baby were "taking a snooze" as we strolled by the exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. The baby hippo would stick his nose above water for a second, go back under the water, close his eyes, and be back asleep. Could I have found a more precious picture? I don't think so!!!!
Whether wild or tame
There's no love like a mother's
That's the way it is
That's the way it is

Forbidden Freedom
Yearning to run wild
Shackled by chains, bound by man
Freedom forbidden
More photos from the San Diego Zoo. How I hate to see these magnificent
animals caged. But, if they weren't, no child would have the experience of seeing the extraordinary creatures that live in our world, and many species would have become extinct by now. As I went from exhibit to exhibit, I was appalled at how many of the animals were on the endangered, critical, or vulnerable list. We need to "wake up" and protect our earth and its inhabitants. How sad it would be if your great grandchildren were to never see a tiger, gorilla, panda, or any of the many species that are "hanging on by a thread".
