Shadow Shot Sunday - Resting In The Shadows

 Resting in shadows
 Fear is absent peace prevails
 Nearby danger lurks

Just returned from a trip to San Diego--what a fabulous Zoo they have.

Animals are wonderful and it gives you a sense of peace to walk among them.

Wow everybody seems to be having their nap time and relaxation!

Perhaps it is an adaptation of sayings when I when I was young: :Never awaken a sleeping cat', something like that. I do like having a fence between myself and these large zoo critters...

We can admire their form so well. Power and beauty are together in these sleek animals (and I do include the camel in that description...). A wonderful place and post!

You captured these critters in a delightful way!

All those critters look like they're suffering from heat prostration!

SING A SONG OF SHADOWS

Sing a song of shadows
Taller than a tree!
Sing a song of shadows
Wider than the sea!
Sing a song of shadows
Dancing in the sun!
Sing a song of shadows—
Day is almost done!

Nice captures, Mickie! I wonder whether they are peaceful or lethargic. Under these days unrelenting heat, I’d like to have a rest in the shade if I were out there.

wow, it does seem hot over there. I liek the bird, it looks cool with the hair on its head. :)

We have finally got some rain that took away the worst of the heat.

Wonderful zoo images! Looks like most of the animals spent the day relaxing. Those felines are gorgeous! Love the variety!

I have heard of the San Diego Zoo all of my life. It is supposed to be spectacular. Your shots are great, and I know you all must have had a grans old time there....if it was not too hot. Whenever we are in a large city, we always make a point to go to their zoo if time permits. I am such a child at heart. I love them.

I love your MM shot too; the flower is beautiful.

Nice shots and variety too. I have never have good success in photographing animals, they either want to be too close or too far away !
