While staying at the Marriott Resort in Dana Point (just south of Laguna Beach), we were walking through the gardens and noticed this bee hive. It was on a tree right beside the sidewalk at eye level. It was most interesting to watch them work.
Micki, what great pictures! I had the same thing earlier this summer. I swarm of bees in the tree just outside my front door. Turns out that they were Africanized bees settling in for the night. It looked just like yours....crazy! Enjoy the rest of your week! Debbie's Travels
oh my gosh, this is so incredible! I have never seen anything like this. I bet you could sell or give this photo to a magazine to share with the world.
Amazing sight and fabulous picture. I took one once of a hive we saw in Florida but the picture was just a yellow blob. It had caution tape all around the tree though so I (probably fortunately) couldn't get very close. The marina was afraid customers would get stung.
Good timing shots. It seems that I can hear thier boom. I am afraid of some kind of bee primarily. If someone hit the hive? Oh, scary. You are brave to watch them working. Sarah.
