Christmas Favorites

Here are some of my favorite Christmas decorations.  I can't "lay claim" to any of them except the little Snowman.  I made him from 2 clay pots.  The big Santa face is a cookie jar lid  ( there is a set of lids that are all hand painted and include a design for every Holiday.  I love all of them.  The standing Santa is my very favorite decoration--he is hand painted and made from a dried gourd.  In a divorce settlement, he would be a major point of contention.  The next Santa is an antique bell, clapper and all.  Such fun to get all of them out each Christmas!

I think it's true that we all have favourite decorations at Christmas. Your second photo looks interesting.
I was probably influenced by a Scottish bed and breakfast and I seem to pick up tasteful small things at Christmas craft fairs and place them all over the house including on top of picture frames and light fittings.... which reminds me I must get them out of the loft this week.

The little gourd Santa took my eye-I have a collection of gourd Santas that were made by Geof & Mindy Denham of Tole 'N' Timber of Pekin, IL. Most of mine I bought in the 90's and early 2000's at yearly Christmas craft shows in Omaha, NE. Yours will have her signature of Mindy and the year she made it. They also had names like Green Plaid Santa, Gold Star Santa, etc. that were on their tag. I collect all kinds of Santas, however, my collection of gourd Santas is my very favorite thing to get out each year! Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy getting out all of your favorite things!
