Green and snowcapped
Alaska shows forth like two gems
The emerald and the pearl

Subtle shades of color or bold dramatic hue
Alaska's varied landscape offers quite a view
Deep within a forest of brilliant emerald green
Tall pines give off a soothing scent, fragrant, fresh and keen
Richly colored skies of vivid sapphire blue
Peek between the opal clouds and call, "Come see me too"
Mountains capped in shimmering pearl in the distance can be seen
Reaching through the sunkissed air so cool, so pure, so clean
Alaska drips with jewels and gems of every sparkling kind
A wondrous paradise on earth , an extradordinary find

Magnificent picture and poem! Alaska is on my "must see" list. We had actually booked a cruise there for last September, but then my husband had to go to hospital, so we had to cancel, but one day we will get there!
