Shadow Shot Sunday - Feathers

    Silently descend

 Serene tranquil trip
           to earth

 Met by life's chaos

But the feathers look so peaceful where they are lying. Is this the calm before the chaotic storm?

SHADOWY DINNER

A shadow, a shadow, a shadow you say?
A shadow is coming to dinner today?

Oh, what shall we feed it, and what will it eat?
Just toss down a few rays of light at its feet,

And watch its dark mouth gobble up every ray,
But be sure, my friend, you don’t get in its way;

Keep out of the light so it won’t gobble you.
(If I were the hostess, that’s just what I’d do.)

A shadow is easy to feed, so they say,
So welcome your shadow to dinner today.

We think of birds as creatures of the air, although we know that avians spend time on the ground. I think that the feather that now resides on the ground probably fell off from above. So the creature from above is now part of the land. The shadows of the grasses on the feather are quite unique and stylish. And wonderfully captured!

Mickie...It is so interesting you posted feathers because on my way home today after a trip to Maryland to attend a grandson’s graduation, I saw feathers all along the road where I am watching a mother and father bald eagle and their one baby. They were all white, and I have no idea from what they came. It was really a very pretty sight. Your close ups are lovely. There is something magical and mystical about feathers on the ground. Loved the post. genie

The lighting is perfect, and you have good eyes to notice the shadow.
